UK Happiness and Wellbeing Statistics – November 2019 Update

There has been a slight decline in overall happiness and wellbeing, with the specific environmental data revealing that our environmental security continues to face sustained pressure.

  • Water security has been negatively impacted this year and this is most likely linked to another record-breaking hot summer.

  • The number of days with ‘low’ air pollution have increased to 90% in the last 12 months across the UK compared to data collected in August 2019, demonstrating the importance of reducing high GHG emitting activities.

  • A reduction in the amount of recorded crime has also recorded, but the latest food security statistics reveal a worsening risk to the UK with food import dependency and disaster risk management identified as areas that have deteriorated since the last food security index.
