We’ve had excellent feedback from our webinars which are helping our SHIFT clients make environmental improvements. They are also great for connecting with peers. We will be running more sessions over the coming months to help social landlords make even more improvements. Unless otherwise stated, the sessions are:

1. SHIFT assessment – this was about the SHIFT assessment process. See here for details.
2. Environmental strategy development – this session gave tips on how to develop a successful environmental strategy – download the output of the session from here.
3. rdSAP – an overview of how rdSAP calculations work and the implications for decarbonisation (see session on 11th May below for more details).
4. Responsible sourcing – we discussed how we could build a metric for responsible sourcing of construction materials. There was a presentation from Travis Perkins which provided a valuable platform for taking this important issue further. Sign up to our newsletter to see how we progress with this.
5. Net zero roadmap – we looked at emerging government net zero pathways, definitions of net zero, key dates and milestones and costs – data – monitoring progress.
6. Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) – we gave an overview of SECR requirements, how to produce an SECR, what the Scopes are and what Scope 3 emissions to consider including, how to calculate greenhouse gas emissions and how to account for renewable energy or offsets.
7. Embodied Carbon – an overview of the current situation on establishing embodied carbon, how to calculate embodied carbon and a case study from our embodied carbon blog of embodied carbon in construction materials.

Many people will be familiar with rdSAP software, but what are the calculations behind it? We envisage the course covering the following:
