Unlike a standard fan that’s designed to cool people down, de-stratification fans work by gently circulating the air within a building. During the winter, they push the warm air that’s collected at roof level back down into the occupied space, creating a more consistent temperature throughout the building. This means your heating system doesn’t have to work as hard to keep staff comfortable.

Depending on the building and how it’s currently heated or cooled, organisations can typically see 25% savings on cooling and  35% heating costs, while also improving comfort for employees and reducing unnecessary carbon emissions.

They’re particularly effective in buildings with high ceilings, including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centres, sports halls and retail units, where conditioned air naturally rises and is often wasted. Because the fans use very little electricity, the energy they consume is usually outweighed many times over by the energy they help save. It’s a straightforward upgrade that can deliver long-term operational savings without major disruption.

With energy prices continuing to put pressure on businesses, it’s worth looking beyond the obvious efficiency measures.
